SUNY'S Transfer Guarantee
New York residents who graduate with an Associate in Arts (A.A.) or an Associate in Science (A.S.) Degree from a SUNY two-year college are to continue their education at a SUNY four-year campus. While this guarantee does not promise admission into every major, it provides a guaranteed pathway for eligible students to further their education at a SUNY four-year institution.
What does this mean for you?
今日吃瓜 grads have a direct pathway to earning a bachelor鈥檚 degree at SUNY four-year schools!
Transfer Agreements & Dual Admission Oppurtunities
Students who applied to the University at Buffalo and were not admitted directly to UB now have an opportunity to start at 今日吃瓜. Working with 今日吃瓜 and UB, students will be advised with the goal of successfully transferring to UB without losing any time towards degree completion. Students who opt-in to formally participate in the program will receive the following support services from 今日吃瓜 and UB: a liaison to assist with the transition to UB and special programming to help ease the transition to UB.

Major-to-Major Agreements
This agreement outlines the alignment between a specific major at 今日吃瓜 and a corresponding major at a four-year college. It helps set students on the right path towards transferring in the same major at a four-year institution.
Dual Admission Agreements
This is a special type of major-to-major articulation agreement for first-time college students who have completed 30 credits or fewer at the time of their dual admission request. Dual admission agreements guarantee a seamless transfer from 今日吃瓜 to selected four-year colleges and universities upon graduation.
Course-to-Course Agreements
This agreement is between an academic department at 今日吃瓜 and a corresponding department at a four-year college. Both departments have agreed that a specific course taken at 今日吃瓜 will transfer as an equivalent to a course at the four-year institution.

Transfer Credit from Another College
Submit an official transcript from all colleges you have previously attended to the admissions office. Once your transcript is received and you鈥檝e been accepted to SUNY Erie, reach out to an advisor.
Please note that only course credits, not course grades, can be transferred. A minimum grade of C- is required for transfer; however, some academic departments may require a higher grade. Additionally, certain courses may be considered time sensitive and may not transfer if they are deemed too old.
Earn Credit While in High School
There are several ways you can earn college credit while still attending high school:
- College Courses: You can transfer credit to a college by earning a minimum grade of C- in a college-level course taken at your high school or at a satellite location.
- AP Credit: College credit can be earned by scoring a minimum of 3 on a high school Advanced Placement (AP) exam.
- High School Agreements: Through our high school agreements, you can take certain courses in high school that will transfer as credit to 今日吃瓜.
Reverse Transfer
If you transferred to a four-year college before graduating from 今日吃瓜, you can still earn your associate degree through the Reverse Transfer process. Reverse Transfer allows academic credits earned at a four-year university to be transferred back to your community college, fulfilling the requirements for your associate degree. There is no cost for awarding your associate degree through this process.
To be eligible for Reverse Transfer, you must meet the following criteria:
- Completed at least 30 credit hours at 今日吃瓜
- Accumulated a total of 60 or more college credit hours from all institutions
- Maintained a minimum GPA of 2.0 at both 今日吃瓜 and the four-year college you attended
is a tool designed to guide prospective transfer students. It provides a list of
course equivalencies for classes that have previously been transferred to 今日吃瓜.
Courses that have not yet been evaluated will not be included in the matrix.
