The Office of Admissions is here to help you start a rewarding education at ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹ÏChoose from more than 150 programs: associate degrees, certificate programs, microcredentials, and specialized program concentrations, designed to support your learning and help you reach your goals. 

Note: Application is unavailable from Fridays at 2 a.m. to Saturdays at 10 a.m. for maintenance and upgrades.

Applying to ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï is free and easy

Begin the application process by creating an account. The next step is to start an application. If you are unable to complete your application online, visit one of our on-campus Admissions Offices. Our staff are on hand to answer your questions and guide you through the admissions process. Computers are also available for use.

Depending on your individual situation, you may fall into one or more categories where the application process differs slightly from the normal path. These include:

2. Submit Your Transcripts

You must provide proof of high school graduation to complete your application. Please submit one of the following:


An official high school transcript containing your date of graduation. 
Please have your high school send the transcripts directly to our offices at SUNY Erie.

-or-

A high school equivalency diploma (TASC or GEDâ„¢).

-or-

If you have been homeschooled, a letter from the superintendent of your school district is required to prove that your coursework is equivalent to the district standards, per New York State 100.10 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education.

-or-

A previously earned associate degree or higher. Your college transcript can be used in place of a high school transcript/equivalency. Official transcripts should be sent from your graduating institution directly to ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï.

3. Apply for Financial Aid

Did you know that more than 70% of ½ñÈճԹϒs students receive financial aid?

You can begin the process of applying for financial aid by completing the . Applying early increases your chances of receiving aid. We also offer many scholarship opportunities through the .

4. Math and English Course Placement

½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï is now placing students based on their previous academic achievements. This includes High School GPA and TASC/GED exam scores. Please submit your transcripts during your admissions application process.

Who requires a placement test?

  • EAL students (if English is not your first language, the HS GPA waiver does not apply for the English placement):
  • Students self-identifying as non-native English speakers on the college application
  • Students who have ESL coursework or NYSESLAT assessments noted on their high school transcripts
  • Students who have a foreign high school transcript (except for those international students applying on a non-immigrant visa)
  • Students who have not been waived from the placement test based on their previous academic achievements
  • Students who want to challenge their current placement based on their HS GPA or TASC/GED exam scores

5. Complete Online Orientation

We encourage all newly registered students to complete online orientation as it provides essential information for your success here at ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï. 

There are five modules to complete once you start the orientation, but if you cannot complete them, you’ll be able to pick up where you left off by logging back in.​ 

To access the online orientation, please use your ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï email and password.

Make Payment Arrangements

You can pay your bill either by mail or in person at Student Account Services on any campus. ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï also offers the convenience of a Tuition Installment Plan to students who need to stretch out payments over a period of time. To explore other payment options, visit our Financial Aid page.

Individuals living outside of Erie County should plan to complete the Out-of-County Form. This allows the college to charge your county for residency fees. It is the responsibility of the student to submit this form yearly.
